German tuner Novitec unveiled its tuning plan for the part-electric Ferrari 296 GTB coupe last year, and is now following up with a similar tuning for the Spider version of it. The exterior, the powertrain and the suspension all get their share of improvements.

Starting from the outside, the 296 GTS seen here is wearing an elegant carbon-fiber body kit that accentuates the original design of the Maranello supercar without disrupting it. Included are a front spoiler, side skirts, side mirror caps, air intake trims, a ducktail spoiler and a diffuser. Novitec NF10 forged wheels sized 21” large at the front and 22” at the back complement the rest of the car nicely, partly thanks to a 35mm (1.4-inch) drop in suspension height.

The performance tune is what you’d expect from a hybrid supercar. The electric motor stays untouched while the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 gets massaged for an additional 38 PS (37 hp / 28 kW). The combined output goes up to 868 PS (856 hp / 638 kW). Owners are invited to consider a high-flow exhaust system with their tuning, which can be optioned with gold-coated or carbon-wrapped tailpipes. There is even an Inconel alloy exhaust on the list for those seeking to maximize heat insulation.

A full interior makeover rounds off the list with a variety of trimming materials and colors to choose from.

Vintage vehicles like the legendary Shelby Cobra make the car enthusiasts’ hearts beat faster, but they are often a handful to control and cost a fortune, to boot. The Superformance MKIII seen here is a viable alternative that bundles modern creature comforts with a manageable price.

On the outside, the open two-seater looks almost indistinguishable from the original Cobra – you will have to be an expert to spot the differences. It comes based on a stainless-steel frame and wears lightweight GFRP body panels. The steering, the suspension and the brakes are completely new and way more up-to-date than those of the 1960s-era original.

Power for the replica comes from a 7.0-liter Roush V8 equipped with an aluminum block, forged pistons and crank, and a slew of other high-end components. The output isn’t stated for this particular car, but it usually resides above 500 hp (375 kW).

A separate mention goes to the interior, which is wrapped in gorgeous red leather with black piping and houses bucket seats. A wooden-rimmed steering wheel, analog gauges and a six-CD changer turn the car into a retro work of art on wheels.

German tuning company Mansory has once again updated its offerings for the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Following up on the last year’s AMG S 63 E-Performance dialed up to 880 PS (868 hp / 647 kW), the tuner took things even further and managed to produce a car with 950 PS (937 hp / 700 kW) under the hood. It also received a deliberately over-the-top body kit and an interior trimmed with Mint Green leather. The result is known as the Mansory P950, and you will have to inquire directly if you would like to find out about the pricing.

The modern S-Class is a hybrid vehicle, and Mansory leaves the electric component alone. The 4.0-liter V8 gets overhauled with new turbochargers, a high-end exhaust system and a custom ECU. As a result, the combined output of the system peaks at the 950 metric horsepower mentioned above, while the torque reaches 1,565 Nm (1,154 lb-ft). The car zaps 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.1 seconds instead of its standard 3.3 and maxes out at 290 km/h (180 mph), which is the same as stock.

On the outside, the Mansory P950 strongly resembles its less extreme cousin, the P880. The company claims that the carbon-fiber parts it is wearing don’t just look good but also help with the downforce. Custom 22-inch wheels and interior-matching accents round off the exterior styling. In the typical Mansory fashion, more carbon can be found in the cabin.

Following a few years of intense development, UK-based car restorer HWA has finally launched its fully restored and modernized version of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II. Almost three-fourths of the planned production run oof 100 units are reportedly sold out by now, despite prices starting from £700,000 ($767,000).

The chassis gets borrowed from the original 190E, but the front and rear ends get fabricated anew from stainless steel and aluminum. A custom carbon-fiber body gets overlaid on this frame to minimize weight and drag.

The stock four-cylinder engine retires, and a modern 3.0-liter V6 takes up its place. It features a dry-sump lubrication system and produces 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) along with 549 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque. Buying an optional package called Affalterbach raises the power to 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW) while keeping the torque the same. The engine is mounted slightly behind the front axle for a perfect per-axle distribution of weight.

A six-speed manual transmission sends the momentum to the rear axle. The restomod hits a cool 270 km/h (168 mph) as is and can even go up to 298 km/h (185 mph) with the Affalterbach package.

Other notable features mentioned in the press release include all-new suspension based on KW coilovers and dampers, six-piston front brakes and carbon-ceramic discs all around (optional). The interior gets an overhaul with modern Recaro seats and smartphone support, but HWA says it sticks to the retro style of the original.

Around two weeks ago, the talented tuners over at Novitec took delivery of a Maserati MC20 roadster (see video) to see what they could do with it. Here’s the verdict.

For starters, the German company proposes enhancing the aerodynamic lines of the car body with a custom-tailored carbon-fiber body kit – a front splitter, air intake and hood vent trims, and a ducktail spoiler for the rear end. Those wishing to take things further are invited to replace the exhaust system with a high-performance one made from Inconel with 999-gold coating on the tips. It’s not a requirement, though – there are several more affordable options on the list as well.

As or the 3.0-liter V6 under the hood, it gets massaged for an additional 81 PS and 88 Nm of torque. With 711 PS (701 hp / 523 kW) and 818 Nm (603 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, the car sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds – two-tenths of a second faster than stock. It also maxes out 5 km/h (3 mph) higher than the standard Cielo roadster, putting it on par with the MC20 coupe.

As usual, the company has neglected to mention any pricing details, but you can request them directly.

Portugal-based tuning company Alma showed us a restored and modernized Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior around a year ago (see video). It has now come back with an even more ambitious project – the revival of the famous Alfa Romeo Sprint 6C Groupe B rally car that never made it to the track.

A company named Autodelta produced the first Sprint prototype in 1982. It had its engine installed between the axles and flaunted a Zagato widebody kit. It was supposed to race in Groupe B, but never made it past the concept stage. Fast-forward to the present day, and Alma decided to revive the three-door hot hatch in a production run limited to 20 units.

Working with an Alfasud chassis, the tuner puts a composite body on top of it, custom bumpers, droplet-shaped low-drag mirrors and an integrated rear spoiler. The round headlights conceal modern Hella lamps with aluminum housings.

While the original Sprint 6C had an interaxle V6, the replica makes do with a 1.8-liter four-banger rated at 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW). The company argues that it’s still more power than the original had. Perhaps more important is the fact that the restomod weighs as little as 880 kilos (1,940 pounds). A five-speed manual transmission drive the front wheels, and you can opt for a Torsen LSD if you need it.

The prices are pending, but the first deliveries are penciled in for Q3 2024.

Famous tuning shop Novitec has graced another European sports car with its attention: the sleek Maserati MC20 Cielo Spider.

The accessories offered are partly compatible with the MC20 Coupe as well, but let’s focus on the topless version for the time being. To help minimize the raising force at the front axle, the Novitec-tuned Cielo gets a special carbon-fiber splitter. It also receives a ducktail spoiler and carbon inlets for the front air intakes.

As usual, the company bundles the exterior package with forged wheels co-designed with Vossen. The set seen here is known as the NF11 and features five pairs of spokes that overlap the entire rim up to its outer edge, making the wheels seem a whole size or two larger than they actually are. A 25-mm (1-inch) drop in ride height also helps with the sporty look.

In turn, the V6 under the hood gets a high-flow exhaust system (various finisher tips available) and an ECU remap that raises its output by almost a hundred horsepower and Newton-meters of torque. Novitec has measured the results at 711 PS (701 hp / 523 kW) and 818 Nm (603 lb-ft). Tuned like this, the MC20 Cielo sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and doubles that acceleration in 8.4 seconds.

Last but not least, the company offers a complete interior makeover with lots of things to customize.

The rare and expensive Statesman HQ sedan made in Australia is a rare sight on streets nowadays, but a lavishly restored MY1974 example is heading to auction right now. There is no reserve, but we fully expect it to cash in big, thanks to packing a thousand horses under the hood and boasting dozens of show awards.

The tuner who worked with the car is none other than Matt McIntosh, a well-known restorer. The Stateman sedan he picked for the project was made by Holden, the Australian subsidiary of General Motors. By the time it went on sale, Holden already had an HQ car lineup, but it felt that it needed to distance itself from the new “Stateman” sub-brand. As such, the car had no Holden badges or lettering anywhere and was marketed as a standalone development for the discerning customer.

Matt McIntosh had spent five long years restoring this example to its former glory – and beyond. He decided to go for a sleeker, better-rounded body shape, so he shortened both bumpers and redesigned the front grille and the hood. He then put staggered wheels into the arches – 20x9” at the front and 22x14” at the back. While somewhat odd-looking on a 1970s-era classic, their Rose Gold finish still stands out nicely against a bluish grey body.

Inside, the whole front panel was trimmed with leather, the dashboard became digital and all four seats were replaced with racing buckets clad in leather and suede. As for the powertrain, it was swapped to a modern one capable of 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 747 kW). The suspension and the brakes are all-new as well, and a modern AT drives the wheels through a differential.

The car took part in the latest Summernats 35 festival in Australia and won top prizes for engineering, bodywork, powertrain, undercarriage design and engine bay design, just to name a few.

The Texan tuner announced the intention to spice up the Mustang Dark Horse last summer, and has now begun the production. The car loses its naturally aspirated quality, but gains a healthy 350 horsepower in the process.

In its stock form, the Dark Horse packs a 5.0-liter V8. Once upgraded with a supercharger, new fuel injectors, an improved fuel pump and a high-flow intake system, it goes from the stock 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) to 862 PS (850 hp / 634 kW). The torque likewise rises from 566 to 881 Nm (from 418 to 650 lb-ft).

As a result, the muscle car hits 96.6 km/h (60 mph) from standstill in 3.2 seconds and finishes a quarter-mile run in 10.9 seconds – 0.5 and 1.1 seconds faster than stock, respectively.

Aside from the power package, owners get some mild interior styling tweaks. Hennessey claims there is custom embroidery on the headrests and badges saying “H850” all around, but they aren’t visible in the photos below. The pricing remains to be announced.

The U.S. division of ABT Sportsline has rolled out a range of aftermarket goodies for the latest Audi Q8 and SQ8 (see video). Both can be optioned with an engine tune, new body kit parts and wheels, and a bit of interior bling.

Those who opted for the entry-level 3.0-liter V6 engine may get an upgrade to 406 PS (400 hp / 299 kW) and 549 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque. The twin-turbo V8 can be massaged to 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW) and 849 Nm (626 lb-ft) of torque, a healthy 140 horsepower above stock. Tuned like this, the normal SUV becomes even more powerful than the range-topping RS Q8 – at least, on paper.

ABT offers carbon-fiber accents for the front fenders and the roof spoiler and suggests replacing the stock wheels for fully forged HG- or GR-series rims sized 22 or 23 inches large. Both sets weigh roughly 40% less than their stock counterparts.

The interior makes do with the usual ABT fare – a carbon-fiber trim for the shifter, matching dashboard/seat back trims, and a few other minor tweaks like that.
