2025 Audi S3 announced with a power boost, same AWD as the RS 3
The Ingolstadt automaker will be refreshing its A3 and S3 lineups in the second quarter of the year. In the meantime, here are some pre-production photos of the sedan and hatchback along with some of their specifications.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine now pushes an extra 23 horsepower and 20 Newton-meters of torque to the wheels, for a total of 333 PS (328 hp / 245 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). The peak torque is now available from 2,100 to 5,550 RPM. The engine runs in tandem with a tuned S tronic seven-speed DCT shifting gears twice as fast as before. As a result, the sprint time goes down from 4.8 to 4.7 seconds.
The update introduces the A3 and S3 to the all-wheel-drive system and the RS Torque Splitter feature of the RS 3 lineup. Separate couplings for each of the rear wheels ensure particularly precise torque vectoring, resulting in better handling and maneuverability.
Stiffer suspension arms and improved steering knuckles allow for a greater negative camber. Elsewhere, the 19-inch 235/35 tires are also new and said to have better grip, the front brakes are 4mm thicker and have air vents for cooling, the rear calipers have two pistons, and the progressive steering benefits from multiple tweaks. Audi also points out a next-gen stabilization system and six Drive Presets to choose from, including a new mode called Dynamic Plus for maximum agility.
