EV owners appreciate fake engine sounds, survey finds
19-06-2024 17:00
A survey conducted in the USA not long ago has shown that many electric vehicle drivers enjoy hearing simulated engine sounds, as opposed to futuristic sound effects or driving in silence.
The respondents were offered a dozen of sound options and asked to pick their favorites. Most picked the normal petrol engine rumble as their most pleasant EV sound, while abstract noise and fancy sci-fi effects landed at the bottom of the list.
Most of the 400 people polled either had an EV at the moment they were surveyed or owned one in the past.
