Suzuki unveils the final Jimny edition for Europe
The gas-powered Suzuki Jimny is saying goodbye in Europe with one last edition called Horizon. It brings along mild styling and equipment upgrades and is coming in a batch of 900 production units priced roughly €3,000 above the base spec (see video).
Starting with the exterior, the radiator grille is new and exudes retro charm. The front bumper boasts a robust-looking skid plate, and the side sills are protected, too. Black steelies with mudflaps occupy the wheel wells. A spare wheel cover and a trailer hook are already included, but you cannot order the Horizon in any finish other than the grey/black combo seen here.
Things stay stock under the hood. This includes the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 102 PS (100 hp / 75 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque, as well as the manual transmission. The minimum asking price in Germany is €32,340.
Due to the recently adopted environment protection laws, Suzuki is forced to offer the Jimny as a light commercial vehicle in the EU (the LCV emission standards are more lenient). This is exactly why the baby SUV seen here lacks rear seats and has a mesh partition inside.
