Manhart dials up the heat on the Mercedes GLE Coupe
The swanky new Manhart GER 800 rides on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic+ underpinnings, but sends 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels.
Starting with the powertrain, it gets an electric compressor, improved turbos, a redesigned exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU. Once everything is installed, the coupe-like SUV gets on par with the Brabus 800 SUV – at least, on paper, because Manhart hasn’t provided any acceleration numbers yet. You can also ask for a particle filter deletion and a pair of high-flow 300-cell catalysts if the legislation in your country allows it.
On the outside, the sporty SUV wears a carbon body kit by TopCar Design, complete with flared fenders and bumper garnishes at both ends. The rear spoiler gets an extension, and the hood cover gets replaced with a ventilated one for better cooling.
The alloy wheels in the arches are Manhart’s own Concave One set measuring 23 inches in diameter. The suspension sits 30 mm (1.2 inches) lower than stock, and the dark green body of the car goes along nicely with strategically placed yellow accents.
A peek inside reveals black Alcantara and leather trim with yellow stitching all around. There are Manhart logos on the floor mats and the headrests, and the whole interior looks upscale with added carbon trim.
At the time of writing, the tuning package is still not listed on the Manhart website, but it should be there soon. You can leave a preorder in the meantime if you are interested.
