This gorgeous Porsche 911 restomod can be yours from $750k
Restorer Thornley Kelham will be producing 25 Porsche 911 RS restomods based on the late-80s-era models. They will be made in Europe and shipped into the USA starting from an eye-watering $750,000.
Starting with the body, it gets new aluminum panels for the doors and the hood alongside a low-drag carbon-fiber kit. Flared fenders and other mods make it 112 mm (4.4 inches) wider at the front and a whopping 214 mm (8.4 inches) at the rear end. As a pre-964 model, there are no things like ABS or power steering on board, but you can pay extra to have them installed.
The stock engine gets swapped for a 993-series flat-six mill expanded to 3.8 liters of displacement. It gets tuned to 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque by default and can rev up to 8,000 RPM. You can request a different setup, though, either with more power and torque or one that can go all the way to 10,000 RPM. Six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive are the only constants.
While at it, Thornley Kelham upgrades the entire suspension with new shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers, and replaces the OEM brakes with carbon-ceramic ones. The interior gets a bespoke makeover, with a really nice example in the gallery here.
Going forward, the company plans to bring back the Lancia Aurelia CSL, the Porsche 356 and the Jaguar XK (watch the video for more info).
