Kalmar Automotive has unveiled its latest light rally car project based on the Porsche 987 Cayman chassis. It’s dubbed “Kalmar RS-C” and is being advertised as a fine choice for those looking to trip the countryside.
Thanks to numerous weight reductions, the car weighs as little as 1,360 kilos (3,000 pounds) while having a near-perfect per-axle distribution of weight. This should make it loads of fun to drive on the highway and beyond. It also features an impressive 200 mm (8 inches) of ground clearance and has robust undercarriage protection all around. Kalmar says the trunk size has been doubled, too.
Further noteworthy modifications include different, wider fenders, oil circuit protection, long-travel shocks, a roll cage and a custom roof rack.
It seems like the engine stays stock. Kalmar says it accepts all Cayman models for the tuning, including those with manual and PDK transmission variants, and those with the wheel on the right-hand side. The list of options mentions all-terrain tires, auxiliary lighting and adaptive suspension.
All pricing is upon request only.
