Say goodbye to the Charge Cars ’67 as the company goes bankrupt
Charge Cars, a UK-based company that wanted to produce luxury electric restomods inspired by the 1967 Ford Mustang, has just announced going into administration and cancelling all projects.
In case you missed it, the tuner’s ambitious first project envisioned a recreation of the classic Mustang based on a modern chassis, an all-new stainless-steel body and a laconic digital interior. The electric powertrain was supposed to send 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, but the company never said much about its origin.
The reason we will never see the Charge Cars ’67 in flesh is simple. The company has failed to find a single buyer interested in handing over the minimum asking price of £350,000 (U.S. $440,000).
