Tuner dedicates a GR Yaris to Ken Block
The rally and stunt legend that was Ken Block died in a tragic accident in January 2023, leaving behind his famous “Hoonigan” brand. German tuner Cardiologie felt like Block and his team both deserved a tribute, so it made this unique and nostalgic Toyota GR Yaris.
The car looks striking in its JDM body kit consisting of a front splitter, side sill extensions, a bulky diffuser and a rear wing. The wing in particular resembles one that Block’s Fiesta used to wear to the Gymkhana show. A full-body wrap in the same vein and carbon-fiber trims also improve the impression from the styling effort.
Like any self-respecting Hoonigan ride, this hot hatch enjoys a power boost to its 1.6-liter turbo three-pot. Cardiologie doesn’t say how much, but there’s an improved air intake system, a Milltek exhaust and a better sump can, among other things. KW Variant 3 coilovers ensure a sportier ride on the road and the track, and TEC Speedwheels GT Race-I wheels sized 19x9.5 inches fill out their arches perfectly along with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
A tribute wouldn’t be complete without a reworked interior, and Cardiologie delivers on this front as well. There is an added roll cage, carbon-trimmed braces and reinforcements, and a new gear shifter.
Work on the Ken Block Tribute Yaris wrapped up a few months ago, but we have only learned all the details about the build now. The car is currently on display at the PACE by JP Performance Museum in Dortmund, Germany.
