EU enforces a new traffic safety law
05-07-2024 12:30
The new traffic safety regulations entering into force in Europe in several days mandate an anti-speeding electronic nanny in all new vehicles.
The highlight of the new legislation is a feature called Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA). It doesn’t act as a forced speed limiter, but instead issues a warning when it detects speeding.
At first, drivers will be able to ignore or snooze the warning, but any drivers caught speeding afterwards will have their vehicle power forcibly capped – at least, this is how it is supposed to work.
