2025 Porsche Taycan lineup gains range in the USA
Porsche has obtained new EPA certificates for the U.S.-spec Taycan, landing some modifications with a cool 32% improvement in range per charge, InsideEVs reports.
Despite increasing the battery size by only 12%, the German automaker has managed to expand the range of its Taycan lineup significantly compared to the previous iteration. For instance, the entry-level spec with an 89-kWh battery can now cover 440 kilometers on a full charge instead of 335 (273 miles instead of 208).
Opting for the bigger 105-kWh battery pack with this version gives buyers 512 km of range instead of 390 (318 miles instead of 242).
Last but not least, the Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo now runs 426 km (264 miles) on a charge instead of 375 km (233 miles). It benefits from new 20-inch wheels and is only 14% more energy-efficient than before the update, but should still be noticeable.
Porsche said it had implemented numerous range-increasing measures in the new lineup. These included replacing the rear-axle motor with a more efficient one, installing a modified heat pump, tweaking AWD logic and optimizing regenerative braking.
