USA enacts anti-China EV tariffs despite concerns, plans to ban software as well

In spite of the automakers in the U.S. ringing the alarm bell, the government has passed the bill for a 100% rise in import tariffs on all China-made electric vehicles and their parts.
The authorities argue that China poses a strategic threat to the United States with its price gouging tactics and data-collecting software. Moving forward, the government plans to impose a nationwide sales ban on EVs containing preinstalled software from China or Russia.
