The updated Genesis G80 has just debuted in South Korea. It is 130 mm (5 inches) longer than its predecessor and packs more comfort-oriented features, making it more comparable with the company’s G90 flagship.
With this upmarket move, the new G80 is positioned as an executive saloon rather than a business one. It has 3,139 mm (122.6 inches) of wheelbase and offers passengers in the second row enough legroom to feel like a luxury limo. Reclining seats, personal touchscreens, power-assisted doors and window curtains are all included in the base spec.
The dashboard houses two displays merged into one 27-inch screen. On the outside, the new G80 looks unchanged aside from different intakes in the front bumper, alloy wheels and chrome décor all around.
Upgrading the battery size from 87.2 to 95.4 kilowatt-hours and optimizing power spending has allowed Genesis to extend the driving range from 427 to 475 kilometers (from 265 to 295 miles). Note that the measurements were made according to a standard adopted in South Korea. Genesis hasn’t mentioned any other powertrain updates, so we are going to assume that the car holds onto its dual motors rated at 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
