A team of Harvard researchers has found yet another compelling reason explaining why EVs aren’t too popular among car buyers these days.
After studying the maintenance data gathered from more than 1,000,000 charging points in the USA, EU and Asian countries, the scientists have concluded that the reliability index of the average EV charging station was as low as 78%.
This basically means that out of five charging outlets, one or two tend to be broken or otherwise not functioning up to spec every time an EV driver arrives for a refill. Unsurprisingly, electric range anxiety compounded by these infrastructural woes is enough to keep most drivers from considering another EV.
