The analysts of AlixPartners extrapolate that China may end up as the world’s largest supplier of new cars by the end of the current decade, producing every third car globally.
Even now, China already controls 21% of the world automobile market, largely thanks to its thriving private segment. With the local manufacturers conducting a rapid global expansion right now, they may soon secure the resources needed to ramp up the production even more.
According to AlixPartners, China-made vehicles will occupy 12% of the market in Europe by the beginning of the next decade. Their share on the domestic market is also expected to rise from the current 59% to 72%.
