Not all countries in the world feel at home with raising import tariffs on China-imported cars.
According to the government of Australia, the country advocates for fair and open competition, as opposed to protectionism. The local electric vehicle market has been growing steadily over the past few years, with Tesla firmly in the lead even today.
While most customers seem happy with their Teslas, the authorities reckon that Elon Musk’s brand could use some competition from Chinese marques Down Under.
