Toyota works on a petite roadster, could be a revived Suzuki Cappuccino

Toyota plans to continue making affordable sports cars, but admits that they aren’t profitable enough for the corporation to design on its own.
This explains why the Japanese marque had to cooperate with Subaru on the GR 86 and sourced the new Supra platform from BMW. It has now announced a new mysterious project – a tiny roadster co-designed with Suzuki and Daihatsu. It is supposed to have a 1.3-liter three-cylinder turbo driving the rear wheels.
This description makes us believe that the company wants to bring back the Suzuki Cappuccino (see the gallery and the video here) and the Daihatsu Copen. The new engine has more displacement than the original one and should result in a decent performance boost.
