Check out the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo
Premium automaker Genesis has attended an auto show in Busan earlier this week with a life-sized mock-up of a car known as the X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo. It takes the X Gran Berilnetta Concept developed in late 2023 for the latest Gran Turismo video game and evolves it further with sophisticated aerodynamics, a new cabin and a nearly 500-horsepower boost.
As you may remember, the X Gran Berlinetta was a luxury-laden, powerful yet street-legal Grand Tourer. In contrast, the X Gran Racer is its track-only variant additionally equipped with numerous splitters, aero cowlings and active aerodynamic parts. Among other things, it rocks a massive rear wing and a Le Mans-style shark fin.
The interior houses just one carbon-fiber bucket seat and replaces the yoke-shaped steering wheel with a gamepad-like device strewn with buttons and knobs. The roll cage isn’t missing, either, but the only display in sight resides at the wheel hub.
The petrol V6 under the hood produces a virtual 870 PS (858 hp / 640 kW). That’s almost the same output as the X Gran Berlinetta, but the X Gran Racer goes wild with electric motors, which bring its combined output to 1,540 PS (1,519 hp / 1,133 kW) and 1,425 Nm (1,051 lb-ft). Genesis neglected to disclose any sprint times and to mention when the car may be ready to hit the Gran Turismo tracks.
