Nissan Skyline GT-R tuned by MINE’s promises wonders for half a million USD

Famous Japanese tuning company Built by Legends has once again collaborated with engine experts from MINE’S to produce the ultimate track weapon based on the previous-gen (R34) Nissan Skyline GT-R. The asking price is $450,000 before options and taxes, but what you get is arguably one of the world’s most enjoyable Godzilla racecars.

For starters, MINE’S throws away the stock engine and puts an in-house-built MB7 unit in its place. It sends a healthy 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Before installing any powertrain components, the company runs a full 3D scan of the car to determine the optimal reinforcement points across 108 areas.

Once finished, the mechanics install heavy-duty strut panels, a new cowl top brace, reinforcement panels for the hood, and add around 400 spot welds all around to ensure the utmost rigidity and stiffness.

The work doesn’t quite end there. Every car assembled gets a completely overhauled suspension, AP Racing brakes, improved ball bearings and carbon-fiber body panels. Fans of earlier (or newer) Godzilla generations may order a mix of different generation parts, and Built by Legends will combine them in their unique project car.

We weren’t able to find any mentions of things like sprint times, but given the tuner’s reputation in the Nissan GT-R fan community, there’s little doubt that the $450,000 sticker is justified, even though it doesn’t include the donor car.

There is still no detailed video review of the tuning, but you can check out the tuner’s similar project based on the R33 GT-R.
