Castagna Milano has converted a Fiat Topolino into a topless beach cabriolet, and is now offering similar rides starting from €25,000.
The microcar has shed its OEM roof and doors, leaving only the windshield above the waistline. Those concerned about excess EV exposure or bad weather may stretch a cloth tent over the lightweight frame formed between the windshield and the seats, but that’s about as far as the weather protection goes.
Sporting aluminum handrails alongside natural wood accents on the side sills, the inner side panels and in the trunk area, the topless Topolino resembles a yacht more than it does a car. Customers looking to haul more belongings around may opt for a stretched variant featuring 300 mm (~12 inches) of added length at the rear overhang.
Things stay stock under the hood. An electric motor sends 8 PS (8 hp / 6 kW) to the wheels, while a 5.5-kWh battery pack supplies up to 75 km (46 miles) of range per charge.
Castagna Milano asks at least €25,000 for the standard version and €35,000 for the stretched one. It doesn’t specify whether the price includes the €7,500 base car, though.
