Renowned tuning company Brabus has worked its magic on the most powerful version of the Smart #1 EV currently on sale.
The crossover looks downright badass in its new body kit, which includes a pronounced front splitter, an expressive rear diffuser and a voluminous rear wind. New air intakes at the front end should combat lifting force at higher speeds, the company claims.
For the wheels, Brabus proposes an aftermarket set in the OEM-matching diameter of 19 inches or a larger 21-inch alternative. In either case, buyers are invited to also install some lowering springs to ensure a sportier feel behind the wheel. The option proposed by Brabus drops the height by roughly 35 mm (1.4 inches) at both ends.
Novelty is scarce in the cabin. There are aluminum pedal pads, illuminated kick plates and branded floor mats, but that’s about all.
The two electric motors powering the Smart #1 in its flagship spec make 428 PS (422 hp / 315 kW) and 543 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque, sending the crossover from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds. With a 66-kWh battery on board, the car has up to 400 km (248 miles) of WLTP-rated range.
